Introduction

This blogspot has been formed to compile various sources of history of Hospital Field, Brabourne Lees, Ashford, Kent UK which s now the subject of a planning application for up to 125 houses.

The field lies between Lees Road and Canterbury Road, Brabourne Lees and abuts Mountbatten Way.

The field was part of the site of a barracks and hospital in the years of the Napoleonic wars in 1803 - 1814. After the war, the  barracks were pulled down and the contents sold off by auction over 6 days from 22nd July 1816.
